The forth wine from Batch 4 that we would like to present you is 315° Alfábia, 2021. Already a new favourite! Very expressive nose with the darkest richest fruit ever. Prunes, with blackberry jam and blueberries.

Marie has of course tasted it and you can watch the video here: 315° Alfábia, 2021

The new kid on the block!

Drumroll please.... and a big welcome to our new red wine! Our wild, mystical and highly intelligent Alfabia.

Alfabia was born during one of the very first barrel tastings in early summer 2022. There was just something so fascinating about 6 of our Merlot barrels that we just had to try to make a wine based on them! After a lot of trials, (yeah it's a hard work being a winemaker and having to taste all that wine, but someone's gotta do it!) we decided to add in some Syrah to add a bit of dark and savage soul and some further backbone to the wine and that really worked out.

This is really the perfect way for us to make wine. When you open your senses, follow your intuition and let the liquid guide you.

Upon bottling we decided to add a tiny drop of a Syrah/Cabernet blend we have one barrel of... But so little it won't figure anywhere... Yup! Another crazy beautiful blend :-)

How to best enjoy 2021 Alfabia

Tasting note written by Marie November 2022

Wow…. You will love this! Well at least I do. Already a new favourite! Very expressive nose with the darkest richest fruit ever. Prunes, with blackberry jam and blueberries. Then it opens up with exotic spice and raw coffee beans.

Same wow effect on the palate. Lots of things going on here! Very intense and complex and packed with life and personality. Juicy, dark and quite big, but the broad shoulders are kept in perfect balance by a “corset” of firm but ripe acidity.

The chewy ripe tannins provide great backbone.

What to serve with Alfabia

This calls for duckbreast, rubbed with ras el hanout and fried crispy on the skinside but left red in the middle. Serve with a spinach, pomegranate, walnut salad with a dressing of aged balsamico, honey and the best olive oil you can find.

When, where and with who...

When you're hungry, happy or just feeling like celebrating something really. This wine calls for happy and invigorating food on your plate. Amazing stuff that goes right into your body, mind and soul. Basta!

The boring stuff

Blend: 75% Merlot & 25% Syrah (plus a bit magic).
