Our beloved fresh summer red

Alaró is our beloved fresh summer red wine. To be served cold, and to bring happiness and smiles all year round; but especially in summer.

Again, as always, it's based on a vast majority of un-oaked Garnacha; 95% this year. And like last year we added Merlot, although slightly less than last year; 6% then, 5% now. This year it comes from one particular barrel that was just majestically beautiful and fitted in perfectly.

How does Alaró 2025 taste?

Just smelling this wine, it's very difficult not to simply start drinking it. It smells so delicious, so juicy. Everything we wanted with this wine: strawberries, cherries; literally one big fruit basket.

When you give it a bit more thought and time, you also find this umami core behind it; like really sweet, aged meat, like bresaola. And then this sweet inviting note like candied cherries. And, as always with Garnacha made in this style, an amazing blood orange note.

On the palate it's equally delicious. It's really, really addictive; very juicy and just delicious. You have these lovely ripe red berries, the orangey notes and the finest tannins possible. It's somehow creamy, round and fresh all at the same time. There's this amazing play between fruit, acidity and that creamy texture, which is just wow. Very difficult not to drink in big sips, empty the whole bottle and be happy.

How to best enjoy Alaró 2025...

Tasting this wine immediately takes me to a beautiful summer evening on the beach. Shoes off, just sitting there with your best friends or your partner in life, no words necessary. Just watching the water; the waves rolling in, rolling out. This is a kind of summer meditation wine, and no food is needed whatsoever.

Should you get hungry, there are plenty of options though. This is an extremely all-round food wine. As always, it embraces a wide variety of tapas and fresh cold cuts; especially a good bresaola or a good ham, and even some lighter cheeses. And the omnipresent hummus! It's brilliant for all of these things.
