Our spring-in-a-glass, our happiness "drug", our beloved pale rosé!
Over the past couple of years we have gotten increasingly good at reaching that goal we always had for our rosé. Namely to strike that oh-so difficult balance between lightness, elegance, pure fruitiness and profound complexity. It's a very tricky task and fine line to balance, but we are getting there for sure.
This year Mother Nature gifted us with not only some beautiful Grenache that was perfect for an early picking, but also some ditto Pinot Noir AND Manto Negro! This is the first time we have that variety in our Massanella and oh my, does that work wonders!
Working with now 3 varieties gives us more parameters to work with and fine tune in order to reach that delicate balance between lightness, charm and depth. It of course adds further complexities during blending, more decisions, but also more options and more fun!
So welcome to an even more brilliant Massanella, a beautiful trio of Grenache, Pinot Noir and Manto Negro this year!
How does Massanella 2024 taste?
Wow… this just smells so much of the most aromatic red apple you can possibly imagine! But opens up with also blood orange, mandarin, ripe strawberries and orange blossom.
Ultra juicy and fruit-driven on the palate with the same beautiful play between yellow and red fruit as in the nose. As it expands on the palate you’ll have a whole mouthful of happiness in the there… (Can one actually smile with the mouth full of wine??? Yes, one most certainly can!)
Juicy, happy, but also quite complex and structured with a wonderful backbone of mineral notes and a slight touch of tannins that adds additional oompf.
An now grown-up Massanella with both that oh-so charming fruit AND a bit more body and intellect!
