Welcome to our new and exciting Art Wine - Tine Helleshøj

Søren has been collecting Tine's art for quite some years, but the rest of the team had the pleasure of meeting her for the first time during the harvest 2024.

Tine spent several weeks at the winery during the busy period. While the team was working in the winery, Tine was busy outside... Collecting leaves, soil, yes even the avocado skins left after preparing our lunches! We had honestly NO clue what was happening :-) Until we learned that she was colouring textiles with the natural colour pigments from our surroundings and everyday life!  That moment we all immediately understood that this would be something very special... Not only made inspired by Binivista, but literally made from Binivista materials!

A few months later, for our harvest party, Tine came back to see us, and she was bringing a big (and very beautiful) surprise... The first piece of the collection!

It was a such a touching moment, and also slightly nerve-wrecking for us in the winemaking team, because would she like the wine we had been working on, and would it match her painting? At this point the wine was still not finished, which added to the nerves!

Getting to know Tine during the harvest and getting a small insight into her creative world made it immediately clear to us that we would get challenged here, but who is not up for a beautiful challenge like that? Tine wanted a white wine, which suited perfectly into our range of Art Wines, as we already made a red and then rosé the years before. The challenge was how to get the same soul, power, beauty and complexity that we could sense from our art into a wine, let alone a young white wine?

But we rolled up our sleeves and got creative... We decided to use a special fermentation of Chardonnay as base. A tank that was richer, deeper and more ripe than the other Chardonnay we had, but we needed much more than just that! So we began playing around with our Giro Ros from the former vintages, both from barrels and from a tank that rotates between 1/3 in barrel and 2/3 in tank.

After many hours of perfecting this idea we finally got there! A white wine that encapsulated both the natural beauty of our place, as in Tine's paintings, but also showed a much deeper and more layered structure. Tine's works are all about layer on layer of texture, color, soul and often feminine power.

When you look at the works she has prepared for us you immediately sense the soul of our land, the heart and passion of the people who work it and the complexity of our wines...

So welcome to Tine's wine... almost the same blend as our 265° Galatzó, but oh so different!

A brief tasting note:

The nose is juicy, enticing and complex. Layers of ripe white peach, lime and mandarin with a beautiful aromatic play of floral notes like cherry blossom and also a delightful sweet note of almond paste. A very "gourmand" wine...

It's equally deep also on the palate; a truly soulful white with lots of ripe white fruit and a exiting touch of bitterness like pip of peach giving further texture to the wine. On one hand delicate, but also deep. A wine of golden texture!
