Finesse calibration of Galatzó
With the now 4th vintage of our "core wines" of which Galatzó is one, we this year focused on really finetuning everything in order to make the most typical Galatzó possible. All our wines have a purpose, a well-defined place in the range, and Galatzó's is that of a sophisticated Chardonnay-based white that works well with food.
We worked using same recipe as the last 2 years, namely with a vastly predominant base of Chardonnay fermented in steel-vats only, spiced up with a smaller proportion of Giro Ros from both the same and former vintages, from both steel-vats and oak barrels.
Galatzó is really starting to find it's purpose and perfection here!
How does Galatzó 2024 taste?
The coolest purest Chardonnay fruit oozes out of the glass. Ripe juicy white peach, apricot, honeydew melon, some raw almonds and also a spicer note like white pepper and nutmeg.
It shows same white fruit on the palate first and then opens up with more complexity from mineral and spicy notes. It’s a beautifully layered wine with lots of soul. The ripe acidity intertwining the spicy/mineral texture gives an exiting texture that just keeps revealing new layers and also keeps building length. Sophisticated, intelligent and Galatzó!
How to get the best out of Galatzó 2024...
Here you’ll be rewarded with a bit of patience and effort! Give this wine a bit of love in the form of swirling it in a good glass. No need for decanting, but some air definitely wakes it up, and the same does a bit more than 5C.
Galatzó 2024 is your go-to wine for grilled calamari and pulpo, or a beautiful piece of sea bass on the grill… Served with grilled vegetables or an escalivada and a lightly truffled mayo.. yes, truffle does work with fish! Especially grilled ones :-)
Uh and when it comes to when and where and while listening to what then the answer is simple… Whenever you feel like spoiling yourself with some grilled fish and whipping up a truffle mayo! And don’t forget to put on some Stacey Kent!
