Update May/June 2021

The summer has truly arrived at Mallorca!  On the island they have a saying that goes: Do not put your jacket away before 40 days from the 1st of May - and after a slightly unstable month of May, the summer really came to the island in early June.

A very fortunately, there is even more light on the horizon than just that from the sun. We are facing a summer with significantly fewer restrictions, and we already clearly notice that more visitors are coming to the island. Most restaurants are open again and already very well attended. It's both wonderful and super life affirming to see.

We look forward to welcoming you at our beautiful green home if you plan to come to Mallorca during the summer and autumn. As we would like to give you the best possible experience, we encourage you to let us know about your plans as much in advance as possible - and preferably by sending an email to us at info@binivista.com.

Busyness in the vineyards.

While it is still relatively quiet in the winery, we are super busy in the vineyards. Due to a lot of rain in the month of May, our vines are extraordinarily happy, and keep us working day and night tying up wild shoots and branches (rélevage). We bend the young branches and shoots carefully in under the two steel wires that run lengthwise between the posts in the rows of vines - partly to protect them from the wind, as they can easily break, a d partly to protect them from the tractor that runs between the rows in the vineyard.

Furthermore, it is the time of year when we thin out in the grape clusters (green harvest). Here we select the best placed clusters with the most uniform collections of grapes. We also remove potentially surplus clusters to balance yields and ensure optimal ripening conditions for the selected ones. It is all about optimizing the energy distribution in the plant and ensuring the quality of the remaining selected clusters.

Finally, we thin out in the branches and remove leaves to ensure a perfect amount of sun for the grapes, again to achieve as optimal ripening as possible.

Every day we have 6 full-time and highly skilled employees in the fields from morning to evening - there is just no other way around it if you, like us, want to make wine of really high quality.

Wine tasting

On May 7, we organized a virtual wine tasting for many of you members, and it was really nice to greet you. Of course, we will regularly have similar events - and now also soon without having a screen between us! We have already had a lot of visitors coming to see us at Binivista, and it is always a great pleasure to meet you, our members, and share both our history and not least a glass of wine with you.

Since not everyone could participate, and since we have new members, Marie has made some small YouTube videos where she tastes and talks about the 4 wines in the Spring Wine Package.

You can watch the videos here:

Puig Tomir 15 °, 2020

Puig de Galatzo 265 °, 2020

Puig de Masanella 358 °, 2020

Puig des Teix 296 °, 2019

Order extra wine - discount on Mallorca

Most of you have already received the Spring Wine Package, and we have received a lot of positive feedback from you in return! This makes us overly happy, as one is always a little nervous when you send your ”1. born child” out into the wild world on their own two feet.

You are always welcome to share your experiences on our joint Facebook page BiniVista Family (https://www.facebook.com/groups/335534697534094).

We have also been pleased to find that several of you dear members, want to buy some extra bottles. Not least those of you who come a lot to Mallorca and want some of the wines also at your residence on the island. This is of course not a problem (as long as stock lasts), and you can either order via the website or write an email to us at info@binivista.com.

If the wine is picked up at the estate or delivered to an address at Mallorca, a discount of DKK 225/ks is granted, so that the price is DKK 150/bottle. When ordering via the website, you must use the discount code: MallorcaDiscount in the payment module. Remember that you must be logged in to the website to be able to order.

The new vineyard

The work on the new winery is progressing according to plan, and now after the entire construction is completed, you get a good impression of how big and impressive the construction actually is. It’s quite mind-blowing walking around down there in our future barrel room!

We look forward to showing it to those of you who have not come to visit us.

Our story told in Børsen

As most of you have probably already noticed, Ole Troelsø from Børsen came to meet us in Denmark, and on June 11th published a nice piece about us in both the printed Friday newspaper and online on Børsen.dk

You can read the article here: https://binivista.com/da/blogs/the-journal/fuld-artikel-fra-borsen

We have already made an agreement we Ole that he will taste our wines again later in the year, as he primarily tasted our 2019 wines, and has not yet tasted our bottled and beautiful 2020 wines.

Invite friends to join the BiniVista Family

You are now approx. 230 members of BiniVista Family, but this year we have enough wine to be approx. 300 members. We therefore hope that you want to be ambassadors for BiniVista and invite good friends to become part of the family.

We think it could be nice that it is you, our BiniVista Family members, who find the future new family members, so that you help to “decide” and “choose” our new extended family.

Events / activities

As restrictions are continuously eased, we are in the process of planning our future activities, and these will be announced on an ongoing basis.

Over the course of the summer we will be available for visits, and we look forward to showing you our everyday life in the vineyards.
